Author Information

Alexander Carlos was first registered as an Orthopaedic Technologist in 1984 and during his career he has been a college instructor in orthopaedics and an international orthopaedic manufacturer's consultant. During his time as an instructor he saw a need for a down to earth guide book for modern orthopaedics for a wide-ranging audience of health care practitioners. Alex is very much a people person and was able to harness the efforts of many professionals in producing this book. Most importantly, Alex had the vision to see the importance of the hand drawn anatomical diagrams and recruited a talented medical illustrator, Bernard Sembrano, to produce these drawings under Alex's leadership. These quality illustrations are pivotal to the success of the book. From his own notes, manufacturers' educational aids, physician and surgeon involvement, student feedback, suggestions from fellow orthopaedic technologists and technicians, and research into the basics of modern orthopaedics, Alex has produced this highly acclaimed and unique book.
