Milam received a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Indiana University, concentrating in literature and philosophy. He is a former Fulbright scholar and National Endowment for the Humanities fellow who has studied and taught in Western Europe and Russia. Dr. Milam has taught Humanities, literature, and composition at Indiana University, Tampa College, St. Petersburg College, and the University of South Florida, and does research in intellectual history and aesthetics.
