Author Information

Mary Oliver (1935-2019), private person by nature, gave very few interviews over the years. Instead, she preferred to let her work speak for itself. And it has, for the past five decades, to countless readers. Over the course of her long and illustrious career, she received numerous awards, including the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry for her fourth book, American Primitive. She also received the Shelley Memorial Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, an American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters Achievement Award, the Christopher Award, the L. L. Winship/PEN New England Award, the National Book Award, a Lannan Foundation Literary Award, and the New England Booksellers Association Award for Literary Excellence. Kimberly Farr is an actress and winner of numerous AudioFile Earphones Awards for narration. She has appeared on Broadway and at the New York Shakespeare Festival, the Roundabout Theatre, Playwright's Horizons, and the American Place.
