OverviewA Place in Time is a Reconstruction Era novella about the healing of America, and compares the post-Civil War period to the early twenty-first century. It is centered in Southwestern Virginia The main character, Will Patterson, has a traumatic past, being orphaned at eighteen after his father was killed in the war, and his mother dies from disease. He is befriended by an opulent neighbor with a charming daughter, is given a place of authority, and catches the eye of the organizers of the Reconstruction. He is then magnetically drawn into their cause and becomes the driving force behind the shutting down of the Klu-Klux-Klan. He is the author of four other books, and enjoys the study of history, religion, genealogy, and the fine arts. This is his first published novel. He has served for the past several years as an officer in the Scottish Clan Sinclair, and is co-founder of the St. Clair / Sinclair DNA Project.
