A Philosophy of Clichés: Poetry Collection

Overview

""Is there a heavan for lost love stories?"" ""Perhaps this garden only exists behind the shadow of our lowered eyelids."" ""She is an emblem for what resides in the sleepy. She is the dream you put yourself in to convince your eyelids that there are prettier things to see, behind them."" - Poems by Victoria Ashleigh Rose. A time capsule of youth, longing, and the fragile truths we only recognize in hindsight. A Philosophy of Clichés Is a collection of discovering yourself through art, love, and loss. This preserved gallery of innocence exists as an ode to youth, reminiscence, and girls whose hearts are too big for their chests. ""The poetry of who I was before I knew who I would become."" In this poetry collection, Victoria Ashleigh Rose invites you into the preserved gallery of her teenage years-a space where art, love, and loss intertwine in an aching search for understanding. Written between the ages of thirteen and seventeen, these poems capture the raw wonder of first loves and last goodbyes, of growing up and growing apart, of the dreams we chase and the innocence we leave behind. There is something sacred about the words we write before we know what they mean. With tender honesty, A Philosophy of Clichés reflects on the contradictions of youth: innocent philosophies, the heartbreak of inevitable change, and the unspoken promise to honor the person we once were. For those who have ever looked back and seen a version of themselves standing in the distance, this collection is for you. About the Author: Victoria Ashleigh Rose (she/her) is a 25-year-old writer and artist born in Newmarket, Ontario, pursuing an Honours BA in English Literature at Brock University. She is finishing her second novel and has a vast career envisioned as an author and artist with many planned books, short stories, art designs, and poetry collections, including a young adult fantasy series. In her spare time, she co-organizes the St. Catharines Poetry Slam and has gotten works published in collections such as, ""24 Hour Poetry Night"" and ""Songs of the Phoenix: The Creative Writer's Anthology"". Victoria is excited by all things peculiar, artistic, or out of the ordinary, but most of all, she loves writing about the human condition, and its deeply tethered soul.
