Shortly before my father passed away, he said: SELL THE HOUSE! He was 89 years old. His message fell on deaf ears. I had successfully weathered home rentals twice before. Why would this be any different now? BIG SURPRISE. This book is filled with surprises! Most of the apartments I rented on the East Coast where I resided and worked for many years were in private homes where the landlord and family members lived. Ten years ago while renting from a family in New Jersey, all this changed. This visual journal is about the last four months of 2017 in a new place I call home. It's time to celebrate!

Darlene Dranda is a visual journalist and former wine columnist for Recorder Newspapers in northern New Jersey. She studied with the New Jersey Chapter of the Society of Wine Educators in 2005 while working in wine retail. In 2008 she returned to her hometown in southeastern Ohio to write feature articles for a community lifestyles magazine. She earned a B.S. degree in education from The King's College now located in New York City.
