His research focuses on the history of the 18th and 19th century Latvian and Baltic German literary cultures and the history of Baltic Enlightenment. Benedikts Kalnačs, PhD., is Senior Researcher at the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art, UL. His principal research areas include 19th and 20th century Latvian literature, comparative literature, and postcolonial studies.
