Overview

A Mother Like Me is a personal, intimate narrative of one woman's journey through grief after the sudden cardiac death of her youngest son. Angie brings tears, joy, love, sadness, faith, and pain together. She gives a beautiful gift to others who have lost a child, and for those grieving with friends and family members who have lost a loved one. Braving her own journey into the valley of the shadows of death, and the wilderness of grief, her story provides the language needed to survive and heal from the unimaginable. Angie's story is a powerful, and insightful work. """Angie's book is a very personal, intimate look at the death of her precious son, Kevin . . . willing to open her heart and express her grief into authentic mourning. I admire her willingness to put her pen to paper. Keep the faith, Angie!"" -Dr. Alan Wolfelt, PhD, CT, Author, Director of the Center for Loss and Life Transition ""There are no words to describe the beauty of Angie's writing of such a difficult subject. She brings tears, joy, love, sadness, faith, and pain together. She is giving a beautiful gift to others who have lost a child, and for those grieving with friends and family members who have lost a loved one. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. I cannot wait to read more of her writing. She has a gift, and I hope this will not be her last book."" -Judy Cunningham, Author, Artist, Master in Educational Leadership ""Angie's book is an amazing resource for those who have suffered the loss of a child or are supporting someone in this tragic situation. It can feel impossible to describe the type of pain and anguish which comes with any tragedy, let alone the loss of a child. Angie has braved her own journey and in choosing to share it she provides the language needed to survive and heal from the unimaginable."" -Monica Nevarez, MSW, ACSW ""A Mother Like Me is a moving narrative of one woman's journey through grief. I read it in a single sitting. I have not experienced that most grave and terrible wound of losing a child, so I can't know what Angie knows. I can only imagine. Reading this story of pain, courage, grace, and hope was a blessing to me, and I think any mother would relate to it, and learn from it. Angie's writing style is genuine and lovely."" -Anne Lukens Underwood, Author ""This is a powerful, incredible, and insightful work! Angie's writing is like personally being there with her and feeling the raw emotions as she reveals all that's happened."" -Joni Wilson, Editor"
