OverviewBesides the river Ganga, Rishikesh is a small town in the foothills of the lower Himalayas. In the proximity of the state capital Dehradun, this historic place is popularly known as the Gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas and also the Yoga Capital of the World . Rishikesh is considered to be one of the most sacred Hindu pilgrimages and for ages, saints and sages have been coming here to meditate and gain wisdom.
