Overview

The book A Manual of Mobile Surveillance Mistakes appeared out of the need to understand the essence of this profession, to bring to normality the application of methods, rules and principles and last but not least to form a professional way of thinking in this field. In this book we will discover both how to carry out a car surveillance and the most common mistakes in this way of carrying out surveillance. Then, after understanding the two concepts we will list the solutions that can be applied for each mistake. Next to the foot stakeout, the car stakeout is the most important way of doing it, the basis of this activity. Without perfect mastery of these notions we cannot proceed to participate in an action because we are not prepared, we do not have the necessary knowledge base. The book will cover all the existing methods that are the basis of the car surveillance carried out in different environments, different types of streets, what we have to do not to stand out, which cars to use. Car drivers often say that they carry the brunt of the action. This is true but their skill is cumulated with the investigators who act on foot. These two activities are at the forefront in the fight against evil but also to meet the requirements of private beneficiaries. Moreover, mobile surveillance conducted by a team of multiple investigators acting together will be scrutinized, and where mistakes arise, we will analyse what went wrong and why, how to do it correctly and provide remedial consequences. This is why I want all professionals, regardless of the course taken, to know clearly what the mistakes of this profession are to avoid many conceptual and operational differences that give rise to discussions in this field and hinder the operation. The problem is not professionals but the lack of national regulation and of establishing an appropriate course for this profession that meets the needs without disclosing some truly secret aspects. Currently, leaving it up to private companies to approve courses and determine their content is a capital mistake that will have consequences in time. Through this specialized book in the field of covert surveillance and counter-surveillance, I wish to present at a higher level to people who want to improve their skills and abilities the concrete way in which the human factor acts in this type of operations as well as the erroneous actions that it can undertake without realizing it, sometimes due to inexperience and the assimilation of wrong courses that he/she has taken part in, courses delivered by non-professionals. The value of this book is given by the experience of 35 years of management experience in covert surveillance at a very high level, of which 20 in judicial surveillance in organised crime and 12 years as owner of the detective companies REFLECTOR and GD DIVISION SRL and SIGHT GD - close protection company. The studies I completed in this speciality were as follows: 5 years in Police Academy Alexandru Ioan Cuza- Bucharest, 1 year in Alexandru Ioan Cuza Police Academy - Bucharest - post-graduate studies in surveillance and 1 year in the Police Academy Alexandru Ioan Cuza - Bucharest - post-graduate studies in forensic field 2 years Master in criminal investigation in the EU. The publication brings more clarity to this field so beloved by professionals by identifying, listing, explaining and analysing the mistakes that can be encountered in covert surveillance activity at any stage we go through, what data exists, where we think wrong and where we act wrong.
