Following this she worked at Cambridge and King's College, London, as a medievalist historian; taught English at QMUL, Reading, Oxford and Winchester; held art history postdocs with the Paul Mellon Centre in London and National Institute for Art History in Paris. In 2011-14 she was a British Academy postdoctoral fellow with the Department of English at King's College London, and currently teaches medieval literature and medievalism at the Middlebury Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies at Oxford.
