A Love Worth Leaving

Overview

Clara Hart fled a marriage that nearly destroyed her, seeking refuge in the untamed West. In the small town of Briar Hollow, she finds unexpected sanctuary as a schoolteacher-and an even more unexpected connection with rancher Caleb Cole and his guarded young son, Henry. But when the man who once owned her arrives to reclaim what he believes is his, Clara must choose between running again or fighting for the family she never knew she deserved. Caleb Cole has learned the hard way that love can abandon you when you need it most. Scarred by his own past, he never expected to find hope in the fierce, haunted schoolteacher who looks at his son like he matters. But when Clara's dangerous past threatens everything, Caleb discovers that some things are worth fighting for-no matter the cost. In a land where survival demands strength and love requires courage, Clara and Caleb must forge a future from the broken pieces of their pasts. Because sometimes, the only way to find a love worth keeping is to leave everything else behind.

Author Information

Growing up in Houston, Texas, I developed a deep fascination with the Wild West. During my junior high years, I couldn't resist sneaking away every lunchtime to lose myself in Louis L'Amour's novels at the library, completely captivated by the rugged tales of frontier life. When I was finally discovered, I negotiated an arrangement to organize books during lunch, enabling me to continue my reading while also assisting with the library's upkeep. Inspired by the strong, resilient women in my community, I set out to portray them authentically in my writing. In my stories, they aren't passive bystanders but powerful forces, standing shoulder to shoulder with their partners, confronting the challenges of the untamed West head-on. Through my writing, I pay tribute to the often-overlooked heroines of the frontier. Their unwavering strength and determination shaped history, serving as the backbone of their families and silent pillars of support who, alongside their partners, played a crucial role in civilizing the wild and building a better future on the rugged frontier.
