Reviews

A Love Story offers an intoxicating blend of historical detail with lively storytelling that illuminates the arduous, multi-year journey undertaken by a hardworking and impossibly dedicated team of collaborators - led by the inimitable Felicia Londre - to bring together a city-wide celebration of the French master, Moliere. Radiating with joy even in its most somber moments, Roberts' chronicle of KC MOliere: 400 in 2022 reminds that this playwright's reach extends far beyond the page and stage; by challenging us to honestly reflect on our own human foibles, Moliere teaches us how to better shape society as a whole. Through this heartfelt and thorough account of the festival's triumph, we experience anew the wondrous gift Moliere continues to provide to theatre lovers and novices alike. Collin Vorbeck, Ph.D. Assistant Professor of Theatre Blackburn College
