Overview

A young girl with anxiety is taught a simple breathing exercise to overcome her worries. Sunny often feels anxious about new things-and meeting her class's new teacher is one of them. When Sunny learns that she will have to read her poem out loud, her worries grow stronger. But Sunny has support from one of her friends, Cisco, who shows her a simple breathing technique to help her remain calm, find courage, and face her fears. A Little More Me aims to show children that it is normal to experience strong emotions, and that they have the power to manage their responses with a simple mindfulness skill.

Hannah Rose Curran is a mother of two, from Victoria, Australia. A play therapist in the child and family mental health field, she has an undergraduate degree in psychology, a master's in counselling, and certification in play therapy, expressive therapies, and mindfulness teaching. Hannah loves the fun and playful opportunities that children's books provide for families, encouraging moments of mindfulness, imagination, and joy, while allowing adults to see the world through the eyes of children. Maia Batumashvili was born in Tiblisi, Georgia, in 1978. From a young age, Maia has loved to draw and is inspired by the children's books and cartoons she grew up with. After graduating from two art institutes, Maia worked on an animation project before finally realising her dream of illustrating children's books. When Maia is not creating imaginative worlds, she enjoys spending time with her three beautiful children and her dog, Tayo.
