A Little Girl's Story is based on a poem written by author Michael S. Powers. It features a heartfelt story about someone who has the pleasure of ""meeting"" a little girl at school. They soon find out that the little girl is not what she appears to be and searches for answers to the little girl's mysterious presence. By the end of the story they soon learn that the little girl's story wasn't what they could have imagined and teaches them one of life's toughest lessons and shines a brighter outlook on the disease we call cancer. This children's book was created from a poem the author wrote in 2005. He originally intended for it to be published for hospitals and treatments facilities to hang as a message of hope for those struggling with the affects of cancer. His hard drive went out on his old laptop, and he lost countless writings from short stories to poems that had been written. Fortunately, he had printed a copy of this poem for his aunt to read back in 2005. He found an old-printed version in a box that had been packed for almost 20 years. Still wanting it to reach those who may need it he decided to adapt it as a children's story. Also included is behind the book afterword that gives insight on why the poem was written and the struggle of getting it published. The author also included the original poem it is unedited form. As unique as the story itself, the author has an email and a download link setup for free printable images from the story for the reader to color and create or tell their own story.
