S. Gopinathan obtained his doctorate in comparative higher education at SUNY Buffalo, United States. He has over six decades of experience as a teacher educator at Singapore's National Institute of Education (NIE), as an adjunct professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, and as a partner in the Singapore Education Consulting Group offering educational advice internationally.
