Aly Elsamman was President of the International Union for Intercultural and Interfaith Dialogue and Peace Education (ADIC) for Europe and Egypt as well secretary general of the Association for Economic Information ""Europe-Egypt"". He contributed weekly articles to the Egyptian press and regularly appeared on television as a commentator on current affairs. Dr Aly Elsamman was awarded the French Legion d'Honneur in September 2012. Aly Elsamman died in 2017, at the age of 87. Brigitte Lefebvre-Elsamman is Aly Elsamman's widow.
