Her doctoral thesis was awarded summa cum laude and won the Human Rights Prize at the Faculty of Law, Economics and Business of the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg. She holds a Master in International Public Law and European Law from Coimbra Faculty of Law, and pursued pre-graduate legal studies in Brazil. Catarina Woyames Dreher was a visiting scholar at University Paris-Pantheón-Assas, the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law, and a fellow at Hague Academy of International Public Law.
