Author Information

Nikko FungChung was born in The Bronx, NY in 1987. A product of Caribbean Pride and Louisiana Soul, she was raised with strong ties to African Culture and History. Nikko grew up in the city of Mount Vernon, just steps outside of New York City. Mount Vernon - though one of the most urban and poorest cities in the richest County in NY - was rich with culture and diversity and this played a huge role in molding the woman, entrepreneur, and author she grew to be. Following in the footsteps of her Grand-Uncle and world-renowned author and illustrator, Ashley Bryan, she combined her natural creativity and artistic abilities with her desire to share culture, encourage acceptance and increase representation in Children's literature. The result was Anya's World Adventures Book Series. ""Anya Goes to Jamaica"" is the first book in this series which has received rave reviews from educators and parents all around the world. She recently (2017) started FiWi Publishing, which will publish books highlighting Caribbean Culture.
