Dr. Nainan P. Kurian, Ph.D., D.Sc., is a retired professor of civil engineering of Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Author of some award winning technical books, with wide reach in the country and abroad, he had a long stint as an Alexander von Humboldt postdoctoral fellow in Germany, and as Principal Consultant to a leading engineering firm in Malaysia. His field of specialisation is geotechnical and foundation engineering, with several research publications to his credit in this area.
