A Half-Baked Origin

Overview

BarnYard Heroes: A Half-Baked Origin is a blend of a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy novel and a Marvels Avenger movie, with a dash of the Muppets. Is it silly? Of course. Is it a bit absurd? Absolutely. Is it socially relevant? Not a bit. Thanks to a space alien's experiments and the sudden corporate cancelation of his project, a band of misfit barnyard animals have malfunctioning superpowers, a thirst for adventure, and delusions of grandeur. This origin story features the chicken, the last to join the space alien's experimentation. She has yet to demonstrate a superpower, prompting the others to call her Half-Baked. But in order to save her fellow BarnYard Heroes and prevent the space alien theft of Earth's cows, she will need to overcome her inferiority complex and activate her superpower. Who knows, she may even learn how to fly.

Author Information

Samuel A. McAdams anointed himself the 21st Century Absurdist. The fact his writings do not match the traditional absurdist definition matters not to him, for he insists the term ""traditional absurdist"" is an oxymoron. He stakes his claim to the title because absurd, along with fun, are the most common words used to describe his work. He bolsters his right to the 21st Century Absurdist crown based on denials of writing his novels under the influence of controlled substances, stating his absurdity is 100% natural because he must maintain a boring lifestyle in order to continue donating his highly sought-after O-Negative blood. Samuel was born, raised, and still lives in the Western Suburbs of Chicago, with his wife Emmi. His children, Alexis and Ben, who many years ago helped brainstorm the BarnYard Heroes into existence, are grown and adulting on their own. BarnYard Heroes: A Half-Baked Origin is the first of seven novels planned for the BarnYard Heroes series. Each BarnYard Hero will take their turn spinning a yarn, with the rabbit and duck teaming up to pen their book in first person plural, which they call the we-person.
