OverviewAlthough this book was first published in 1903, little has changed in Kandy. The railroad system including the trains and railroad stations were built by the British and are still the same. The most interesting changes are the three major motion pictures that have been made in Kandy and several minor films. Especially the films Elephant Walk starring Elizabeth Taylor and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom starring Harrison Ford. Also Bridge on the River Kwai. I think they picked Kandy as a place to make these movies because of the picturesque surroundings. It is said that Kandy is a natural Movie Set . You may want to visit the places where these movies were made.
