Overview

"Authors note: (This is a slightly updated version of my original book of the same title. I went back in and edited a few things for personal artistic reasons, but if you have the first version of the book, please understand that the general content is the same and don't feel like it's necessary to purchase both.) This craft show guide is intended to give artists, artisans and crafters a great start to their craft fair business. I have been selling at markets and shows for years, and have learned so much from the dozens of events that I've attended. I've learned from my own successes and mistakes, as well as observing other vendors and exchanging ideas with artisans who have also been in the craft show business for years. This guide offers a start to finish approach to selling success. The book begins with the basics of how to determine a profitable price for your products, and how to get started with a tight budget. There is a brief chapter with tips on how to organize your finances and begin keeping records for taxes. Finding events to sell at and some ideas on using social media to promote your business and the shows you attend are also included. There is a chapter with tips for any handmade business to create a lovely display and how to begin creating a brand or a ""look"" for your business. This chapter also offers detailed considerations for planning your display and how travel worthy it might be. A craft show checklist is included and is a great starting tool for any new seller who might be feeling overwhelmed with all of the supplies, paperwork and details involved in having a successful show. There are several suggestions on how to best ""sell"" your items to potential customers, no matter how introverted or extroverted you may be. Basic event etiquette tips and other considerations that vary from show to show are also covered. To wrap things up, the final chapter of this guide offers some suggestions on how to finish up the details of one show and begin planning for the next successful event. I feel like this is a great book for anyone who is creative and wants to begin selling their creations. If you've never participated in a craft show, this guide will give you all of the basics you need to begin. If you have been doing shows for a while, or maybe dabbled in a few but feel a bit stuck in a rut, I hope that you will find this book helpful as well, and full of some new ideas."
