She founded The Outstanding Youth Awards Initiative, a nonprofit that has raised over $198,000 since 2015 to empower youth through scholarships, mentorships, media arts, literacy, cultural outings, and mental health awareness. Her films, including The Weight We Carry and Grounded: Creating Space for Black Peace, have screened around the world winning awards in Venezuela, North Carolina, Canada, Chile, Nevada, Louisiana, California and Slovakia. Brackett's upcoming film, 7000 Feathers, explores mental health in America. Brooks Brackett, a South Carolina native, grew from a self-taught illustrator into a culturally driven designer. After earning a Graphic Design degree from the Art Institute of Charlotte, he returned to Greenville, building over 13 years of agency experience before becoming Communications and Media Designer at BMW Car Club of America.
