Author Information

Jian Li is an associate professor at the Institute of International and Comparative Education, Faculty of Education, Beijing Normal University, China. She received her Ph.D. degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) from the School of Education, Indiana University Bloomington, the United States of America. Her research interests focus on education policy studies, globalization, and the internationalization of higher education. Dr. Li serves as a 'think tanker' at the China Institute of Education and Social Development, Beijing Normal University. She has published more than 100 papers in Chinese and English in multiple Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) and Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI) indexed journals, such as Higher Education, International Journal of Education Research, Educational Philosophy and Theory, Educational Research, Comparative Education Research, and China Education Journal.  She has also published multiple English monographs and over 60 articles in China Education Daily, People’s Political Consultative Conference News, and People’s Daily (Overseas Edition). Eryong Xue, Changjiang Scholar (Young Scholar) of Ministry of Education, is a professor at the China Institute of Education Policy, Faculty of Education, Beijing Normal University, China. He is also a research fellow at the Center for Science, Technology, and Education Development Strategy at Tsinghua University, China. His research interests include education policy and law, comparative education policy, and equality of education. He has published over 160 articles, monographs, reports, and policy briefs in these areas. Professor Xue has presided over more than 10 national or provincial projects, such as projects sponsored by national social science fund, natural science fund, the Ministry of Education humanities and social science fund, and Beijing philosophy and social science fund, and participated in 9 national or provincial key projects such as the Ministry of Education philosophy and social science project, and 1 international cooperation project.
