Author Information

John Lutz has been contributing to articles and newsletters for a number of years, and currently is a proofreader of history articles originally written in languages other than English for an international history digest. A German-American Journey is his first book. Mr. Lutz has had an interest in history and family genealogy for many years. A desire to learn about the history and background of his ancestors was sparked early in his life by the reading of family documents recorded by older generations and read at family reunions. As an adult, he enjoyed pulling bits of family history together into small narratives to be included with his family tree. After his father passed away, in 2009, it became even more important to him that this book be written. It was only months later that the pulling together of the information in this book was begun. Mr. Lutz hopes to pursue writing into retirement, and would love to do a second edition of this book if more family stories come to light following the publication of the first release. In addition, he looks for other opportunities to write about immigration, family genealogy, and church and mission growth in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
