Overview

Escaping a failed marriage, Eva Goldsworthy emigrated to Greece and soothed the pain by visiting the ancient sites of Delphi, the Parthenon, Epidavros, Mycenai, the sites she'd read about as a child, kindling a love for Greece that stayed with her throughout the subsequent decades. Finally she took the plunge and decided to take herself to the warmer climes of Greece to live. Braving the horror stories of naïve foreigners being fleeced by wily natives, she bought a plot of land and built a house, putting into motion a roller-coaster ride into the abyss.

Author Information

Eva Goldsworthy was born in Wales but spent most of her life in London as a mathematics teacher. She has three daughters, two of whom feature in the book. She still leads a double life, but this time divides it between Llanfyllin and Cambridge.
