IRIS MORALES is an educator, author, and activist with a passion for history. Her work spans classroom teaching and developing media literacy programs for children and young adults. She has written history books for adults and co-authored Vicki: A Summer of Change, a children's picture book. A Flag's Journey is her first chapter book. VICTOR TAVARES is a Brazilian mixed-media artist and award-winning illustrator of internationally published books. His work has earned awards from the U.S. Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, the Bologna Children's Book Fair in Italy, among many others.
