A Feathering of Wisdom: An Inspired Life

Overview

Anita, on the doorstep of retirement closes her yoga and counselling studio and contemplates the rest of her life. In early mornings, with a cuppa and notebook from a pergola overlooking her garden, she observes a pigeon who becomes an unlikely teacher as she transitions into a new life. Pidge's antics prompt reflections of life lived in suburban Adelaide and in her former Victorian rural property, Sundarra. Her candid, heartfelt stories reveal what sustains and inspires her. Quotations from time-honoured notable humans like Cicero, Dickens, Goethe, Shakespeare, Lincoln, Emerson, Byron and others encapsulate her experiences. A Feathering of Wisdom, a memoir for modern times, with subtle humour invites busy readers to dip into any page to savour gems of wisdom and the value of contemplation and reflection.

Author Information

As a young Italian migrant in 1950s Australia, Anita's love of new words developed into a passion for writing. After years of juggling primary school teaching, writing educational books, stage and radio plays, she took a leap into a more relaxed lifestyle. This evolved into a counselling, yoga and meditation teaching career both in South Australia and rural Victoria. In recent years, Anita reignited her passion for words by writing short stories, memoirs and young adult novels.
