Francine Giese ist SNF-Förderungsprofessorin am Kunsthistorischen Institut der Universität Zürich. Im Rahmen ihrer Dissertation und Habilitation hat sie sich intensiv mit islamischen Rippengewölben (Gebr. Mann, 2007) sowie der Bau- und Erhaltungsgeschichte der Moschee-Kathedrale von Córdoba (Peter Lang, 2016) beschäftigt. In ihrem aktuellen Forschungsprojekt „Mudejarismo und Maurisches Revival in Europa"" untersucht sie Austausch- und Transferprozesse zwischen al-Andalus und Europa. Ariane Varela Braga studierte an den Universitäten von Genf und Neuchâtel. Sie promovierte mit einer Dissertation über Owen Jones’ Grammar of Ornament (Campisano Editore, 2017). Ferner war sie ein Mitglied des Istituto Svizzero in Roma und eine Dozentin an der John Cabot University. Derzeit arbeitet sie als Oberassistentin für das vom Schweizer Nationalfonds (SNF) geförderte Projekt „Mudejarismo und Maurisches Revival in Europa"" unter der Leitung von Prof. Dr. Francine Giese.
