Author, Elizabeth Johnson, lives in the village of Easton Royal in Wiltshire. The chance discovery of a letter in the church archives set her on an enthralling literary journey, combining historical fact with dramatic licence to weave together the loves and lives of one extraordinary woman and two courageous men as they struggle to achieve their goals within the uncompromising moralities of Victorian Britain.Elizabeth was born in India where her father served in the Army, returning to England in 1947 after Independence. In 1994, she co-wrote with her late partner, Robert Hughes RMS, HS, a publication entitled `How to Paint Miniatures' and has attended creative writing courses over the years, but this book is her first foray into the heady world of historical fiction.
