OverviewExcerpt from A Descriptive Catalogue of the Manuscripts in the Library of Gonville and Caius College, 1908, Vol. 2: Nos; 355-721, With Supplements, Corrigenda, and Index A large number of the books here catalogued are of fairly recent date. From no. 515 onwards there is little that is medieval; nos. 515 to 578 are the heraldic collections of Dr Knight; many of those which follow relate to the University and the College. In the case of these more modern books I have nearly always reprinted the descriptions given in Smith's catalogue without omissions, and with very few additions of my own. It seems to me that this is the portion of Smith's work which he did best, and that it would have been waste of time for me to rewrite it. The heraldic books, therefore, still await a searching examination by an expert. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
