Overview

Twenty-one years old, George lives with his dysfunctional parents, including his alcoholic, abusive dad (Greg). George wants to escape and starts making plans to rescue his mother (Cheryl) when she is murdered. By whom, that is the question. Suspects are: Greg - drunkard that won't hold a job Bryan - Greg's brother. Cheryl's former lover before Greg stole her Louise - town prostitute that wants Greg for herself Kurt - Lead investigator that wants to protect his boss (Billy) that is screwing Cheryl Billy - Cheryl is threatening to tell his wife if she doesn't get her way. Follow that up with Kurt's daughter Alicia who is also George's girlfriend, but unbeknownst to George, she is also Bryan's bed partner, until she leaves him for George only, but not before Alicia, Bryan and Michelle (Bryan's former girlfriend) enjoy regular threesomes. Eventually Kurt, his wife, his daughter, and Bryan join Cheryl in the hereafter found in the sky. Add Craig, the baby given up by Alicia and his family and the plot takes even wider turns that destroys relationships yet brings about more backstory than anyone could expect. Based on the lyrics of ""Behind Blue Eyes"" by The Who and ""In The Air Tonight"" by Phil Collins (I warned you!), this novel takes the reader on a 47-chapter winding tale of love, death and deceit.
