Alexander is an assistant professor in the Willem Pompe Institute of Criminal Law and Criminology at Universiteit Utrecht, the Netherlands. He achieved his PhD in 2024 having conducted ethnographic research into the narrative meanings being ascribed to psychedelic drug use in non-clinical contexts. As a researcher Richard is primarily interested in qualitative criminological methods, particularly when applied to the study of drugs, drug use, and drug users.
