A Convenient Lie: Common Sense Talk About Climate Change

Overview

A Convenient Lie is obviously a retort to Al Gore's infamous book, An Inconvenient Truth , and is the answer to the whole global climate change groundswell now invading the public consciousness. This is a counter reaction to a new group of global alarmists seeking to scare you out of your SUV and your hard earned tax dollars. Moreover, it is a counter strike to the ongoing ideological battle for the hearts and minds of all breathing human beings. I wanted to give a very different and optimistic outlook to the unsuspecting people who are being propagandized and inundated with doom and gloom scenarios in regard to this evolving phenomenon called global climate change. No doubt most Americans are going about their daily lives in the same manner, attempting to eke out a living in this all-consuming, highly regulated, restrictive, taxing time we live in today. The goal of this book is to disprove the latest global warming doomsday scenarios with pure, unadulterated, logical thinking, rational reasoning and a heavy dose of common sense. With my help and many common sense perspectives on climate changes, you will be able to stave off the bombardment of negative predictions hurled your way by a variety of liberal activists. I promise to do my best to avoid manipulated reports; pointless statistics, biased surveys and hapless predictions based on tree rings, and will try to get to the core of the issue. Straight talk, lined with a pinch of sarcasm, and a heaping helping of logic will provide all the ammo needed to combat the growing army of global warming fear-mongers.

Author Information

I grew up in typical middle class suburbia to Catholic parents who voted for Democrats. Like most Dems, they were not sure why they were Democrats only that their parents were. However, they were far from liberals. My father (God rest his soul) had a side business. As an electrical engineer, he picked up projects usually with small businesses in the community. He paid lots in taxes but that never deterred him. He taught me to work hard, take care of family and give back to the community. Even after my college indoctrination, I never considered myself a Democrat. When I ventured out on my own and began paying my fair share in taxes, I made my first move to the right. Republicans, ahh, the party of lower taxation. Several years later I joined a grassroots movement that was sweeping the nation. A true 3rd party candidate was emerging to finally conjoin the divides in the two-party system. Energized, we all thought Ross Perot had a chance to finally change Washington. Although he quit, I made my next move to the outside as an Independent. After several years of listening to Rush Limbaugh and other conservatives, I veered right into a full-fledged Conservative. There I felt at home, touting the constitution and denouncing big government. Now that I understand core values and principles are more important than political platforms, I see my role as a thinker and author. Many Americans are not engaged. Too many feel they can't take on city hall, keeping their frustrations pent up or ignoring politics altogether; I was there. I decided to act. I will continue doing what I can, significant or not, I feel it is our obligation to try. America was not built on excuses. Part of the learning and growing process is the ability to use our innate common sense. Knowledge and experience are important but everyone eventually relies on common sense to guide them. That is the foundation of my book and my life...
