Overview

This book is a collection of eight newly discovered drawings by the postage stamp designer and artist Biman Mullick and a set of Indian vegetarian recipes by Aparajita Mullick. The recipes are inspired by these drawings which have a timeless feel. The recipes are a true bonus for the discerning gourmet. The drawings were originally commissioned by the BBC for its publication Radio Times to announce a TV series on Indian cookery in 1982. Biman's so-called illustrations do not 'illustrate' as such. They are highly stylized graphic statements inspired by the subject he deals with. His drawings for Radio Times are typical examples of such unique images. The text accompanying the recipes contains easy to follow diagrams along with lots of interesting relevant facts which are often surprising. That is why this book is truly a collector's item.
