OverviewThe prevalence of forged certificates poses a significant challenge to the integrity of educational institutions and employers. This study presents the development of an online certificate verification system aimed at enhancing the efficiency, flexibility, and security of certificate authentication processes. The proposed system adopts a Top-Down Design methodology and utilizes MongoDB, a NoSQL database, to overcome limitations in scalability and durability associated with relational databases. Key features include a user-friendly interface for certificate verification, robust storage capabilities for graduate records, and the ability to validate certificates using unique identifiers issued to graduates. The system also facilitates real-time certificate verification, reduces reliance on manual processes, and provides secure storage for institutional data. Through implementation and testing, the system demonstrates significant operational efficiency and reliability improvements, offering an affordable and scalable solution for certificate verification across educational institutions.
