Author Information

Dr. Andy Hicks is a scientist-practitioner who was trained at Vanderbilt University and the University of Florida Department of Clinical and Health Psychology, Shands Hospital. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He has been a Clinical Neuropsychologist and Director of Assessment and Research since 1988. Dr. Hicks has published in Neuropsychology and Cognition, the Southern Medical Journal, and the Journal of Clinical and Consulting Psychology. In 2013 he was designated a Distinguished Psychologist. Dr. Mack Hicks is a scientist-practitioner who trained at the University of Florida Hospitals and the University of Wisconsin Medical School. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. Hicks was lead scientist on a grant from the National Institutes of Health. He practiced for over 30 years in the field of child and adolescent neuropsychology and opened the first school for dyslexics in the United Kingdom. He founded schools in the U.S. to deal with learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, and autism. Dr. Hicks writes articles for the Psychology Today Magazine website.
