The mark of a good casebook is the selection of the right material: Professor Burrow's expertise ensures these are sublimely selected and explain the relevant points in a logical and stimulating way. Thought-provoking questions are also posed to encourage the reader to undertake independent research. Given the author's reputation, it comes as no surprise that A Casebook on Contract is written in an accessible way allowing the reader to quickly understand the important principles of contract law. The cases are seamlessly incorporated into the text without affecting its balance and flow. Other excellent features include the cross-referencing to the relevant sections in the leading contract law textbooks and the innovative summary of the relevant articles at the end of each chapter. Professor Burrows should be commended for these features. Professor Burrow's A Casebook on Contract provides a stimulating and thought-provoking text. It combines both fantastic academic commentary and superbly selected material. It is simply one of the best contract law casebooks. At only GBP28, it is a highly commended purchase for anyone interested in contract law and is compulsory for anyone studying or practising in this area of law. Author Information

Andrew Burrows, MA, BCL, LLM (Harvard), QC (Hon), FBA, Barrister and Honorary Bencher of Middle Temple is a Senior Research Fellow at All Souls College, Oxford. He was previously Norton Rose Professor of Commercial Law in the University of Oxford, and a Fellow of St Hugh's College. Before returning to Oxford he was a Law Commissioner for England and Wales, a lecturer at the University of Manchester and Professor at University College, London. He lectures regularly for the Judicial Studies Board, is a Recorder on the South-Eastern Circuit and a Door Tenant of Fountain Court Chambers, London.
