OverviewAs one would look at the state of today's Christian church, it is hardly surprising that even the casual observer would be quite disheartened. If Jesus truly was God incarnate, was it really his intention to merely establish some sort of new religion? There were plenty of religions already in existence. Certainly God did not sacrifice so much to come into this world just to add one more religion to be compared among others. A Call to Unity, Peace, and Purity is written as an attempt to start a conversation since there has been an increasing sense of urgency to see our Lord's High Priestly Prayer for his people, as recorded in John 17, become a reality before a very troubled watching world. Rather than continuing in seemingly endless turf wars over which Christian expression is more legitimate, it is high time that believers move forward in maturity and seek to find a solution lest God's people fail to stand firm and make a real difference in a world that is increasingly either indifferent or even hostile to the good news of Christ. The future of God's people as well as humanity itself deserve better.
