The book is about the joy of a boy from early age experiencing the pleasures and excitements of one's early life that contributed to his growth, independence and happiness into adulthood. The STREET encompassed all the experiences that helped contribute to his future understanding of life in general. Love was not expressed openly by his parents but was evident in their care and concern for him towards his happiness. The journey was successful.

Maxwell Meltzer, a Jewish boy from Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York, was raised by immigrant Russian parents who spoke very little English. Moving to Los Angeles in 1946 after graduating high school, he attended LACC and Cal State Northridge receiving a BA degree in Accounting. Accepted as a member of the Director's Guild of America - DGA in 1978, he went onto work in the TV and Motion Picture Industry for over 50 years traveling internationally on numerous productions. Currently residing in Los Angeles and is a retired/active member of the Director's Guild of America as a production manager.
