Lisa 5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring and motivational! Reviewed in the United States on May 10, 2022 This book was a gift that I could not stop reading. From the humble beginnings, through the struggles, to the success. It was an easy read with a narrative that is relatable. As an educator at a STEM School this would be a great story that allows for the students to identify with, while providing with information for future decisions. I will definitely be passing on the gift that was given to me. PaulEs 5.0 out of 5 stars Important for allies too! Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2022 I've worked as a leader at Microsoft, Amazon and a couple 'big 5' consulting companies and have always taken in part in various Employee Resource Groups as an ally - i.e. someone who recognizes the importance and mission of a group but is not directly part of the community. As an ally, I feel its important to establish as much empathy as possible for the community's perspective. This book provides a great look inside Dwight's background and worldview and helps me understand a little more of what it takes to get to where he has in the tech world. It offers things to think about when involved in hiring, managing or just working with people from diverse backgrounds. Thank you Dwight for having the courage and passion to write such a personal and important story! Alicia J 5.0 out of 5 stars Such a Great Read Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2022 Enjoyed the up and down ride of the life of this great author. Always interesting to see the journey of those who persevere through tough times and beat the odds. So many laugh-out-loud moments
