Os extratos brutos, provenientes das plantas, contêm uma importante fonte de moléculas biologicamente ativas. É neste contexto que o nosso estudo se orientou, tentando avaliar a atividade antifúngica dos diferentes extratos preparados a partir das folhas de Thymus vulgaris em relação a dois fungos fitopatogénicos, Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.phaseoli e Alternaria alternata.
