Overview

On a typical professional development day, educators are introduced to a myriad of delivery strategies, management techniques, intervention ideologies and even public speaking tips. While some are effective, very few could be considered fruitful. In education, there is money to be made by the newest thing and the latest research-based fad. Sadly, much of my time has been wasted at empty professional development seminars listening to people try to sell something as opposed to making us better teachers. It isn't until we begin reading the Gospels that we realize that all of the educational training we consider to be effective was already practiced by Jesus over 2,000 years ago. Seriously, who was the top chemist at the Wedding in Cana? Jesus, He changed the molecular structure of water into wine! Who was the best mathematician in all of Judea? Jesus, He could multiply bread and fish! Who gave the finest incentive if you listened to his teachings? Jesus, He promised us eternal life. My hope is that this book helps you become a better teacher. It is also my hope that through it, you will come to know Jesus Christ, the Master Teacher more closely. Finally, I pray that you will join me in praying for the students who have to deal with us on a daily basis, Lord knows they need it.
