The writing is beautiful and the storytelling is lyrical. I was captured from page one. When I read a book - it's all about the characters, and 99 Nightingale Lane has multi-dimensional characters that will stay with you long after you've read the last page. Amazon Reviewer I rooted for them and I cried with them. I was absolutely captivated by the heroine. She's strong and brave despite every reason not to be. The author takes you from the drawing rooms in London to the teeming streets of Bombay. The writing is so deliciously descriptive I was transported. If you love stories about women who overcome odds, and if you're looking for the next book to take you away - this is the one. Amazon Reviewer I loved the Dickensian tone to this page-turning story of romance and tragedy in India, a historical novel depicting class, race, and betrayal. Carrie Dobbs is a heroine from whom the reader can learn about resilience, grit and forgiveness. Highly recommend! Amazon Reviewer Loved the writing, felt as if I knew the places. So interesting I really had to finish reading it in one sitting. So glad there are other books to continue to follow this brave young girl. Looking forward to reading other books by this author. Thank you. Amazon Reviewer One of the best fiction books I've read recently. Couldn't put it down until I finished all four parts. Characters are very well described and you feel them and what they are going through. You either love them (Carrie, Ida, Pearl and so on) or you hate them (Arnold, Carrie's husband). It is difficult to find books as easy and enjoyable to read as this series. Amazon Reviewer Excellent series totally absorbing & so realistic. Really bring that period to life. People are so realistic you feel you know them. I rarely pay full price but for this series, I made an exception. Highly recommended. Amazon Reviewer This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well-written plot and storyline that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great drama and romance with wonderful world-building. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. TOP 100 AMAZON REVIEWER Author InformationTab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
