823 Languages

Overview

You're never too old to pick up a new language. In this book, I'll guide you through learning Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, and Arabic. You might have heard that children are better at learning languages than adults and that our ability to acquire new languages diminishes with age. I beg to differ. Children don't possess a special talent that adults lack; their main advantage is simply having more time. As adults, you have unique benefits that children don't: 1) You understand how to learn effectively, and 2) You've already mastered at least one language. Knowing one language can actually help you learn another. In fact, you can use your first language as a springboard to dive into the others. Ultimately, language learning boils down to one essential skill: pattern recognition. To facilitate this learning process, I developed a writing system that outlines the patterns found in various languages. The core elements of language, or grammar, can be distilled into six fundamental components: pronouns, direct objects, indirect objects, interrogatives, connectors, and verbs. Pronouns are indicated by letters with circles above or below them, while direct objects are marked with filled dots underneath. Verbs are represented by two dots above them, resembling wheels. Additionally, I created my own International Phonetic Alphabet to clarify sound distinctions. My alphabet consists of 80 letters, but there's a logical structure to it. Once you grasp it, you'll be able to phonetically read any sentences I present across multiple readings of various languages. You might be curious about the title of the book, '823'. It signifies how a seemingly random set of numbers can hold meaning-823 stands for 'Thinking of You'. You can understand that new language that you've been wanting to learn. I believe in you!
