With fifty years of experience and fluency in thirteen different sign languages, Don Cabbage, Ph.D. is an expert in writing and teaching sign. For those wishing to learn the basics of American Sign Language, they now can with Dr. Cabbage. Beginners will learn the basics of the alphabet and numbers before venturing on to full sentences. After the 700 exercises found in this book, beginners will have a better understanding of this incredible language and the ability to carry on simple sign language conversations with others.Don Cabbage has earned degree levels BS, MA, and two PhD degrees from Christian universities. In College he met and married a deaf woman, Miss Betty Rice. She taught him sign Language and soon realized he had an unusual talent for learning sign language. In 1964 Don and Betty were married and spent their lives together for 58 years working with the spiritual, physical, vocational and social needs of the people of the Deaf Community Internationally. They worked together with Deaf Communities in North America, Central America, Central America, the Caribbean, Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. They have worked Asia, Europe and behind the Bamboo Curtain. Betty died in 2022 and Don today lives in El Paso, TX serving as Director of World Mission Society, American Society for the Deaf and Don Cabbage Publishing.
