OverviewThe 7 Bedtime Stories are aimed at children aged 5 to 9, and each includes an educational element. The stories blend fantasy and realism, each concluding with a life message. Along the way, children will encounter an empathetic fox, a skiing granny, Pixie and Whiskey, a cat and dog who are best friends, a unicorn, rival electric and acoustic guitars, a case of mistaken identity and parents who karaoke. Each story has an illustrative sketch on its own page, with a blank reverse side, making it ideal for children to colour if they wish. Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationAs a child, I enjoyed the stories of Enid Blyton, who wrote about the Faraway Tree, The Children of Cherry Tree Farm, and The Secret Seven, amongst many others. My reading developed at quite a young age, and by my early teens, I was reading books by the likes of Ian Fleming and Wilbur Smith. In more recent years, I have developed an interest in gangland crime stories set in cities like London, Liverpool, and Manchester in the style of Martina Cole.I grew up at a time when the home computer market was in its infancy and computer games quickly rose to prominence. But I always enjoyed reading, particularly when the stories take me to a different reality, where I can form a picture of the scene in my mind. After over thirty years in the computer software industry, in 2025, I started exploring the world of self-publishing. My first book was a personal memoir of my experiences as an Elvis Presley fan, titled Memories of an Elvis fan.In my exploration of self-publishing, I have become acquainted with several other self-published authors around the world who produce a range of diverse works.Today, most of my reading is done just before I go to sleep, just like in my childhood. This and other influences led me to write a book of bedtime stories for children. I thought seven stories would be a good number, one for each night of the week.
