However, her writing did not take off until she began to write her memoirs when she was in her early sixties. Although this project is not finished, it gave her a continued interest in the art of storytelling. Grace has written several short stories, which were published in various magazines. She won a prize for her bush poem 'Possum's Lament.' in a competition, which is published in the Cairns Tropical Writers book, 'Category Five.' She is a mother of five children, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and reckons there is much in her life still to do. Grace has written several Children's books and has published on Amazon. These stories were first published on the ABC Open Website and Grace has decided to put them into book form.
