Dave Denniston, CFA is a financial advisor and author specializing working with physicians of all ages and enjoys particularly focusing on residents and fellows. In working with clients for over 10 years, he has seen most every situation imaginable. The one common theme he found that separates the successful and thriving clients from those that fall off the proverbial financial cliff is one thing- debt. His drive and passion to see every doctor's financial situation become debt-free has led him to write this workbook. His drive to help doctors came from the birth of his youngest child, Evangeline. She is his family's little miracle baby born in May 2012 four months prematurely at a weight of 12.5 oz (3.5 oz short of 1 pound!). As they were in the NICU for nearly five months, he had the opportunity to get to know many residents and fellows and listened to what they went through. He decided from then on that he was on a mission to help out any resident or fellow for free and the best way to do that was to write, speak, and meet with people individually to council with them on their financial situation. He is an expert in a number of financial planning topics including debt reduction, 457 DCs, 403bs, and other retirement plans, asset allocation (where to invest), disability income insurance, life insurance, annuities, college planning, stock awards and options, and much more.
